Introducing Sophrology

Welcome to the wondrous world of Sophrology.
Sophrology is a dynamic relaxation practice to connect your body, mind and spirit, and to become more whole and conscious of who you are. It finds its origins in ancient Yoga, Buddhism and Japanese Zen practices and draws on many other more contemporary mind-body practices such as neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and breathwork.
At its heart it is a consciousness and energy regulating practice.
Practicing Sophrology will make you feel more present in the moment, more connected to your inner being and with the world around you. You will find you are living life with more clarity and confidence, and making decisions becomes easier.
Sophrology practice consists of short, daily (guided) practices with a lot of gentle movements and a variety of exercises including breathing, visualisation and using your voice to make gentle sounds. This variety is easier to do for a busy mind than the more traditional meditation practices that require you to sit still.
Sophrology is deceptively simple, but very effective. You can do it anywhere, where you have a chair and a quiet corner. You don’t need special clothing or any equipment.
Sophrology is an easy, but deep inner work method suitable for people who feel disconnected, a bit lost, (nearly) burned-out, or those who simply wish to live life more fully and consciously.
Sophrology certainly changed my life at the time when I was struggling with a burn-out and did not have the tools to get myself back on my feet.
You can read more about Sophrology also in the blogs.
I am AnnA
Hi, I am Anna Cichowska Myrup! I am a public health doctor, a Sophrologist and Reiki Practitioner. I have worked all over the world in various amazing health roles, from the Flying Doctors in Australia to health diplomacy at the United Nations World Health Organization.
Sophrology changed my life at the time when I was struggling with a burn-out and did not have the tools to get myself back on my feet.
Throughout the years I had already tried - on many occasions - traditional meditation, yoga and various other wellness methodologies, but I could simply not stick with them long-term. I either did not have the time to attend the classes regularly enough, or I simply did not have the ability to sit still for longer periods of time.
I trained as a Sophrologist primarily for myself, however I quickly recognised that many people, like me, struggled with their mental and inner wellbeing.
At the core of the public health profession is prevention of ill-health and promotion of well-being. I strongly believe in the power of Sophrology to stay well as I age and continue to be connected to my inner-self.
Sophrology is now my core practice and I would be very happy to guide you on your journey, so that you can live your best possible life.
I offer 1-1 and group sessions, in person or on-line, so there will be always a suitable option available for you.
Get in touch to discuss you needs and how we can work together.
If you are keen to rebalance your energy, and manage your daily stress and anxiety, then Sophrology is for you.
It will help you to reconnect with your inner self, help you regulate your emotions, and help you to feel more connected with yourself and life in general.
